Founder & Podcast Host – Lucinda Carney

Lucinda Carney is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and former Head of Learning & Development at Siemens and at Pfizer before that. In 2008, she decided to work for herself and set up Advance Change, an Organisational Development Consultancy. It was through this work that she recognised how many HR professionals were being hampered by poor performance management technology and so decided to do something about it!

In 2012, Actus Software emerged into the marketplace and has evolved to become The Complete Performance, Learning and Talent Suite – Comprehensive HR Software with unrivalled value-added services including aligned consultancy and training, often facilitated by Lucinda. Lucinda has always been passionate about driving the Actus purpose to ‘Build a better workplace for people’ and launched The HR Uprising initiative back in 2019 to deliver value to people professionals everywhere.

An accomplished Coach, Consultant and Speaker, Lucinda was named ‘Everywoman Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016’, ‘Winner of one of the UK’s top 10 Women in Business 2020’ by Business Gamechanger magazine and one of the ‘Top 32 Female Tech Leaders in 2021’ by Business Leader. She is also the author of the best-selling book (also on audible): ‘How to be a Change Superhero’ along with a free downloadable Change Toolkit and the host of the No.1 ranking HR podcast ‘ ‘The HR Uprising Podcast’.

A thought leader in a range of people management and change-related business topics, Lucinda has used her expertise to support organisations in adapting to remote and hybrid working. She also regularly hosts free topical webinars and produces a range of HR resources that can be accessed on the Actus website.

Lucinda’s Personal Life

Lucinda has been married to Chris since 2002 and they have two children Emma and Sammy; two dogs; two cats and a bearded dragon! They live in the Hertfordshire village of Redbourn and are an active part of the community there.

Lucinda is passionate about Netball having co-founded the Redbourn Redkites in 2014; an inclusive ‘netball family’ ranging in age from 14 to 65. They play in the local league and regularly socialise together.

Lucinda attributes her drive to succeed to her father David who she sadly lost in 2009; he had been caring for her mother Jean who had been suffering from dementia since the age of 57. She finally died in 2016. Both parents and her sister Fiona worked in the NHS which is another cause that Lucinda feels extremely passionate about.
